S&H is currently looking for a talented VP, Strategic Planner to join our growing team.

 

 

VP Strategic Planner

 

The strategist/planner requires a broad-spectrum understanding and experience in the content and inputs that form the basis of client/brand OP Plans/Marketing Plans (customer insights, market dynamics/levers, CSFs, barriers, audience analysis (HCP, patient, payer) and tactical channels (personal selling, digital, events, etc.). To participate at this level, the strategist/planner should have the desire and experience to interact with the agency team and client in all key planning and research initiatives related to same. We do emphasize the need to be a fully-integrated member of our core client/brand resource. Fluency in quantitative and qualitative (insight-driven) market research methodology and analytics is a must – and, development of customer insights that will drive and guide brand strategy and positioning, creative brief and process will be a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Participates as an integrated team member with account services, creative and digital colleagues
  • Challenges the “status-quo” and embraces the role of ideating for the broader agency team
  • Participates in and interprets primary & secondary market research
  • Ability to analyze research and market information, and develop/deliver compelling and strategic recommendations to varying stakeholder groups (clients, agency leadership, day-to-day teams)
  • Works with market analysts and information services colleagues to monitor market activity and developments, and inform teams of news and implications
  • Proposes practical and relevant strategic responses to client and agency/network needs
  • Participates, on a day-to-day basis, with internal agency teams on the development and management of client projects and deliverables
  • Work with and mentors market analysts to develop their research and presentation skills

Qualifications

 

 

A.S.K. (Ability/Skills/Knowledge):

  • Experience (3-6 years) in a marketing/analytical capacity in areas such as Pharmaceutical Marketing, Market Research or Market Analysis
  • Oncology expertise is a must
  • Ability to work productively with multidisciplinary teams within the agency and the network
  • Experience working in multiple therapeutic categories (Immunology, CNS and Oncology are pluses)
  • Agency experience with US accounts necessary, Global experience desired
  • Experience with HCP-focused communications preferred
  • Strong and poised presentation skills a must
  • Experience with market research analytics
  • Experience with cross-channel initiatives within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
  • Comprehension of medical and analytical information needed
  • Understanding of market analytics tools (databases, on-line sources, syndicated reporting tools, etc.)
  • Enthusiasm for and ability to capture and synthesize insights, coherently and expediently, for new business and pitch opportunities, with a proven success record. 
  • Constructive, positive supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably research, life or physical science, or business)
